Shakib Al Hasan will now be a part of the Bangladesh side that will tour South Africa. The Bangladesh side will take on the Proteas in a full-fledged series that consists of three ODIs and two Tests, which is scheduled to commence on 18th March 2022.
Shakib also added that he has spoken to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Nazmul Hassan, where he planned out the whole of 2022 with him. The veteran cricketer also revealed that he is now available for the Bangladesh side for all three formats of the game.
Shakib also said that the Bangladesh Cricket Board will decide when he should be provided rest and made it clear that he is available for the entire South African tour.
“I spoke to [BCB president Nazmul Hassan] Papon bhai for the last two days, when we planned the entire year. I am available for all three formats. The board will decide when to give me rest, that includes the South Africa series. I am available for the SA series,” said Shakib Al Hasan was quoted as saying by ESPNricinfo.

The President of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), Nazmul Hassan confirmed that Shakib Al Hasan is available for the entire South African tour. Adding that people should be ready to accept if Shakib wants to skip a game, Hassan concluded by stating that Shakib wants to play for the Bangladesh side and that is the most important thing at this point of time.
“Shakib is available for all the formats for the South Africa tour. He will travel to South Africa tomorrow. If he skips a match in this series, please accept it. He wants to play. That is the most important thing,” concluded Nazmul Hassan.
Shakib has represented Bangladesh in 59 Tests, 218 ODIs and 96 T20I matches in his career.
