New Zealand is all set to lock horns with India for their second fixture of the T20 World Cup 2021. Ahead of the match, the Kiwi pacer Adam Milne has expressed his willingness to take the charge of the field. He wasn’t able to be a part of the game against Pakistan but feels that he can make a larger impact in the upcoming game.

Milne wasn’t originally included in the 15-man squad of the Black Caps for the World Cup. However, Lockie Ferguson’s injury which ruled him out of the mega event made way for the speedster in the team. He comes with a splendid form by his side. Milne had an impressive run in the Vitality Blast and The Hundred before entering the marquee event and is all raring to make a difference for the team.

“I definitely feel like this has been the best period of cricket that I’ve had in a long, long time. I’m excited to hopefully make a difference with the ball in these games here and really prove that this period has been influential for me,” Milne said according to

The pacer traveled to Sharjah for New Zealand’s previous game against the Babar-Azam-led side. However, as the ICC had not approved him as Ferguson’s replacement, he couldn’t be a part of the match and the side went with Ish Sodhi. New Zealand lost the match against Pakistan by five wickets. Milne feels that he would have helped the team to put up an even better show at the display.

“I think I would have been able to add something to the team, but it wasn’t meant to be, and I thought our guys bowled really well, and unfortunately for us, they came out and batted really well towards that end part of the game.

“I think if you’d looked at the way the pitch played throughout the course of the IPL (Indian Premier League), and the faster guys that had been able to hit the wicket hard and create some uneven bounce had caused some problems for the batters,” Milne added.
