Australia earned the urn back with a splendid performance in the third Test. Steve Smith was absolutely fantastic in the process as well. It all came together in the Test at the WACA. England had found their way back, almost but lost to Smith and Mitchell Marsh after their fantastic batting display. They were absolutely magnificent with the bat.
The skipper scored yet another double century to win the game and series for Australia. This win got to him and he was seen crying in the dugout. He revealed the news while talking to ABC radio right after the victory. This win is even special because it was the ultimate Test at the historic WACA before the contests shift to the new stadium over the river.

Steven is as emotional as any other human being. His hard work paid off when they won the urn back. They managed to comprehensively win the third Test and took a 3-0 lead in the series. And his emotions got the better of him.
“Everyone has played a part in this series, they have done a great job for Australia, for their country and to get that urn back in Perth yet again, I was crying in the sheds a bit a minute ago. Everything just came out. So much work and time has been put into this,” revealed Smith.
It was the first Ashes as a captain for the number 1 Test batsman. He was very proud of his performances and also the performances of the whole team. He said that he wanted to leave a mark and do some great things.
“My first series as captain in the Ashes, I really wanted to leave my mark and do some really great things. I’m proud of my performances but I’m really proud of everyone in that room,” said Smith. He even congratulated the medical staff as two of his best fast bowlers were down with injuries before the final day.
They managed to bring them back and Smith acknowledged it. “A lot of praise has to go to the medical staff to ensure those guys were ready to go and also the selectors for ensuring those three bowlers were ready.”
