Imad Wasim shares an inspiring quote after being considered for the ODI series
The all rounder hadn't been going through a great phase especially with regards to fitness.
As Pakistan announced their 15 man squad for the One Day Internationals against New Zealand, two men staged a comeback. While Mohammed Hafeez was rewarded for his good performances in the T20Is, Imad Wasim was also called back into the One Day side after a year. The all-rounder last featured in an ODI back in 2017 against Sri Lanka.
Their selections also signified that both are in the plan ahead of the 2019 World Cup. Both had been rewarded for their hardwork which resulted in some fascinating performances. Pakistan went on to win their 11th consecutive T20I series. The Champions Trophy winners will now be looking to conquer the World Cup in England and Wales.
Imad Wasim shares an inspiring quote after being considered for the ODI series
Imad Wasim had a few words of encouragement on Twitter. The all-rounder hadn’t been going through a great phase especially with regards to fitness. The 29-year-old had even failed his Yo-Yo test recently. However, the Welsh born Pakistani cricketer didn’t lose any hope even after being excluded. Here’s what he posted on Twitter:-
“Don’t wait for it to happen, go make it happen.
Never lose hope. Never lose faith.
Silence says a lot more than you think.
Do the best you can with what you have.”
Here is Wasim’s tweet
The left arm orthodox was splendid during the first two T20 internationals against Australia. He had figures of 3/20 in the first game and ended up winning the Man of the Match. Imad followed it up with another spectacular economical spell of bowling conceding just 8 runs in his four-over quota. He accounted for the wicket of the dangerous Chris Lynn.
The spinner has been quite efficient against New Zealand as well. He also scored a quickfire 14(5)* in the last T20I. It turned out to be quite instrumental as Pakistan ended up winning the game by just two runs. Now, the upcoming ODI series would be influential in determining if Wasim has in him to cement his place in the 50-overs format.
