Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq recently found himself reeled in a major controversy. The nephew of former Pakistan skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq wasn’t at his best during the World Cup 2019. Furthermore, he has sunk himself in further trouble when his chats with four women were leaked. Moreover, it was reported that he was involved in multiple affairs with around 7-8 women.

Imam has always been under the scanner and is also alleged to be a product of nepotism. One of the girls Imam chatted with also revealed that far too many girls have been taken advantage of by the cricketer. She even termed him to be a cheater.

“Far too many women have been manipulated and taken advantage of. This needs to come to an end. Being a victim to this myself. I can say, yes it is cheating. But in what way is cheating on someone okay, that too, with multiple partners, the girl said according to Geo TV.

Imam-ul-Haq was remorseful and has apologised

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) earlier refused to comment on the matter. They termed this to be a personal issue. However, PCB’s MD Wasim Khan spoke about the matter on Monday. He revealed that Imam-ul-Haq was remorseful and has apologised for whatever has happened. Khan even added that they expect all their players to adhere to the highest standards of ethics and discipline.

“Imam was remorseful and has apologised for what all has happened. But we have told him in clear terms although this is his personal and private matter. But we expect our players to adhere to the highest standards of ethics and discipline,” PCB MD Wasim Khan said on Monday as quoted by Indian Express.

Wasim said the board had viewed the matter seriously and spoken to the opener about it. He said that the centrally contracted players are expected to show more responsibility being the ambassadors of Pakistan cricket. He hoped that they don’t see such incidents again.

“We don’t like to comment on personal affairs of a player but we expect that our centrally contracted players will also show more responsibility being ambassadors of Pakistan cricket and Pakistan. Hopefully, we will not see such incidents again.”
