The team Bangladesh have received a major blow ahead of their tour to India. One of their most experienced batsman, Imrul Kayes, is unlikely to get fit on time for the Test against India. Bangladesh are scheduled to play one-off Test on their tour to India on February 8. They will then head on to Sri Lanka for a full tour where they will play Tests, ODIs, and T20Is.
The left-handed opener, Imrul Kayes, had injured himself during the first Test against New Zealand recently. He had even donned the wicketkeeping gloves after Mushfiqur Rahim was injured earlier in the game. Kayes ended up with a muscle tear during batting in the second innings of the match. In an attempt to pull off a quick single, he tore a small muscle in his left thigh.
He had to be stretchered out of the ground thereafter. Now, as per the reports in wahcricket, it is unlikely that Imrul Kayes will regain fitness before the Test match against India. He was seen jogging at the National Cricket Academy at Mirpur. He expects he will be fit for the fixture but soon added that it will be the physio who will take the final call. Kayes will have his fitness test on Tuesday.
“The pain has lessened. I cycled and ran a bit, but felt no pain. I also had a chat with the doctors. The game begins from ninth [next month]. I think I will be fit before the match begins. Obviously, every player looks forward to a series like this, because we don’t play much there. Everyone wants a golden opportunity like this. We are all very excited with this series. My going to India depends on me and the physio. If he gives good news, then maybe (I’ll go). If I’m not selected, it’s a different matter. But if physio gives the green light, everything will be fine,” Imrul Kayes quoted.

Prior to the one off Test, Bangladesh will play a warm-up match against India A led by Abhinav Mukund on February 5. Whether Kayes features in that game is also a doubtful starter and Kayes cited that again it will be the physio who decided that.
“Whether I will play in the warm-up match also depends on the physio. I he gives the nod, I will play. There are still four-five days in hand. If I keep practicing these days, I think, something good will happen. I will continue grow fitter,” he added.
