It is the final day of the Kummerfeld leg of the European Cricket Series (ECS) T10. A total of four matches including the semi-finals and the final are scheduled to be played on Friday. The first semi-final of the tournament took place earlier in the day between the PSV Hann Munden and KSV Cricket. The KSV Cricket won the match comfortably by five wickets but more than that, a unique occurrence, very rare in cricket, sought everyone’s attention during the game.

Sharanya Sadarangani has already created history by becoming the first woman cricketer to play in the ECS T10 League. She has played all six matches of the team so far as the wicket-taker and the KSV Cricket haven’t made much use of her as a batsman. However, Sharanya has impressed many with her wicket-keeping.

But during the match, she also kept wickets for her husband Finn Sadarangani which is an absolutely rare instance. Finn, the off-spinner, bowled an over for KSV Cricket in the match and was taken away for 16 runs. Rather this is the second instance that Sharanya has kept wickets for Finn. Earlier in the tournament, it happened in the game against SC Europa Cricket when Finn conceded just nine runs in his two overs and picked up a wicket.

It is an interesting story of the cricketing couple. Normally, wife changes her surname after the marriage. But in this case, the husband whose name is Finn Kleissl changed his surname to Sadarangani after tying the knot with Sharanya.

KSV qualify for the final

Meanwhile, the lady luck is brimming for KSV Cricket as they defeated the strong PSV Hann Munden in the first semi-final. After opting to bowl first, the KSV bowlers did extremely well to restrict the opposition to just 88 runs. They bundled PSV out with two balls remaining in the innings. Izatullah Dawlatzai, Sultan Sherzad Shah and Mussaddiq Ahmad took three wickets each with the ball.

Sharanya Sadarangani did well behind the stumps taking two catches and also affected a run-out. Chasing the target, Shoaib Azam Khan and Mussaddiq started off well smashing 36 runs in only 14 deliveries. The momentum helped KSV Cricket as chased down the target with five wickets and 11 balls in hand. Finn Sadarangani also played his role in the chase scoring 6 runs off 7 deliveries.
