Dinesh Karthik has been hogging the limelight ever since he has won the Nidahas Trophy for India sensationally with an 8-ball 29-run cameo against Bangladesh in the final. He was appointed the captain of his franchise KKR in the IPL as well and he did exceedingly well. But it is tough to say if he will be able to make his case in the longest format of the game with the good showings in the limited overs format. No wonder he is at the highest point in his career and would want to grab any opportunities coming his way.

He is also under the radar of the selectors and had travelled to South Africa for the third and final Test match when Saha was officially ruled out due to an injury. It will be interesting to see if he will be picked ahead of Parthiv and if that happens, it will complete a successful comeback across all the formats for 32-year-old. He doesn’t boast a strong record in the whites but his inclusion might bring more solidity to the batting down the order and might get tested before the stern England tour as well.
