Ravindra Jadeja’s brilliance with the red ball proved to be too good for Rachin Ravindra. Off the 23rd delivery he faced, the New Zealand batter’s innings came to an end due to a superb delivery from Jadeja that caught Ravindra off guard.
Jadeja bowled a delivery that pitched on good length and spun in sharply. The left-handed Ravindra went for the drive, the ball sneaked in through the gap between bat and pad and crashed onto Ravindra’s stumps. And in the battle of the Ravindra’s it was Jadeja who outsmarted Rachin.
There was delight in the Indian camp while the New Zealand batter walked back for just 13. You can see the delivery from Jadeja below.

Tom Latham stands tall amidst the ruins around him
The Indian side made a strong comeback with the ball on Day 3 of the 1st Test between the two sides. New Zealand resumed the day with their scorecard reading 129/0. However, the Kiwis were unable to build on this wonderful start and lost wickets at regular intervals on Day 3.
After Will Young’s departure for 89, senior pros Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor got off to starts but could not convert their starts into big scores. While Williamson was dismissed for 18 after consuming 64 deliveries, Taylor walked back after contributing just 11 to the total. Left-hander Henry Nicholls was dismissed for just 2.
But amidst all the ruins, Tom Latham kept the fight going for the Kiwis. The left-hander played out 282 deliveries, stood like a rock, and thwarted the Indian bowling attack. But then, just when he was 5 runs short of his century, the left-handed opening batsman was dismissed by Axar Patel.
The New Zealand scorecard currently reads 249/6, and the Black Caps still trail the Indian first innings total by 96 runs. Axar Patel has been the pick of the bowlers for India and has prized out 3 willow wielders.
