IND vs SL: Virat Kohli hilariously imitates Jasprit Bumrah's action during Day-Night Test in Bengaluru
Even the broadcasters highlighted Kohli's knack of emulating other bowlers' action.
Jasprit Bumrah was at his lethal best on Day 1 of the ongoing second Test between India and Sri Lanka at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The hosts looked under the pump after getting bundled out for 252 while batting first. However, Bumrah breathed fire with the new ball and took a couple of wickets in his first three overs.
At the stroke of stumps, the speedster also dismissed well-set batter Angelo Mathews, pushing Sri Lanka on the back foot even further. While Bumrah’s thunderbolts gave a tough time to Sri Lankan batters, Virat Kohli entertained the fans by imitating the pacer’s action. It happened just before the start of the Sri Lankan innings. Kohli, who was surrounded by his teammates, seemed like having a fun conversation.
Virat Kohli was at his hilarious best
Kohli was certainly at his hilarious best as his imitation of Bumrah’s action left the other Indian players in splits. Even the broadcasters highlighted the former Indian captain’s knack of emulating other bowlers’ action. The clip of the incident went viral in no time as fans were thoroughly entertained. Meanwhile, the crowd at the venue showered massive love on Kohli with the 33-year-old being their adopted hero.
Although the right-handed batter hails from Delhi, his association with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) since the inaugural edition of IPL in 2008 meant the spectators treated Kohli like a home player. While the talismanic batter received a massive cheer as he came out to bat, there were chants of ‘RCB RCB’ when he was fielding.
Meanwhile, Kohli showcased substantial resilience on a tough track but fell prey to off-spinner Dhananjaya de Silva after scoring 23. Nonetheless, the hosts were in command at the end of Day 1. In reply of India’s first-innings score of 252, Sri Lanka finished Day 1 at 86/6. With just four wickets in hand, it would be interesting to see how Sri Lanka bounces back. On the other hand, India would like to wrap up the game soon.
