India announce 'A' squad for Australia 'A' tour

India A team is in readiness to take on the biggest challenge down under. As the selectors of the The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have announced the India ‘A’ squad for the upcoming tour of Australia. The board has shown faith in Manoj Tiwari for the bilateral series. While the new Mr. Consistent Robin Uthappa will lead India A into the quadrangular seiries also involving South Africa.

The A team is scheduled to play two four-day matches against their Australian counterparts the first match is scheduled on July 6-9 at the Allan Border Field, Queensland and the second one on July 13-16 at Allan Border Field, Queensland as well.
On completion they will be joined by the African junior team for along with Cricket Australia’s National Performance Squad who will make it quadrangular as the tournament also involving the ‘A’ team of South Africa.

The second part will be played from July 20 – Aug 2: Quadrangular One-Day series will be played in Northern Territory (Marrara Oval and Gardens Oval).
Indian team also includes familiar names like Ambati Rayudu, Naman Ojha, Pragyan Ojha, Amit Mishra, Umesh Yadav along with new faces Anureet Singh, Rajat Paliwal among others.

This series should be seen as a chance for youngsters to actually go out there and perform, many of them have been given this chance on the basis of recent form and good IPL season. All eyes will be on India in 2015 when they fly to Australia again to defend the World Cup. Exposure like this can provide good platform to these players and also some confidence for getting prepared for the Mega event.

Squad for the Quadrangular series: Robin Uthappa (c), Unmukt Chand, Manish Pandey, Ambati Rayudu, Kedar Jadhav, Sanju Samson (wk), Manoj Tiwary, Parvez Rasool, Akshar Patel, Dhawal Kulkarni, Rishi Dhawan, Mohit Sharma, Karn Sharma, Rahul Shukla, Manan Vohra and Jaidev Unadkat.
