Head coach of the Indian Cricket Team Anil Kumble is off for a well-deserved vacation with his wife Chethana and his three children. Earlier this month, Kumble had gone on a vacation to Macau with his wife. However, this time around, he decided to take his entire family along. The couple have three children – son Mayas and daughters Svasti and Aaruni (Chetna’s daughter from her first marriage).
The former India skipper, who recently turned 46, took to social media to announce that he’s off for a holiday. He posted a picture of his family waiting at the airport on Instagram on Saturday. His caption read- “Vacation!!! #FamilyTime #TravelDiaries,” Kumble wrote. However, the destination for Kumble’s family trip hasn’t been disclosed.
He has had a pretty busy time as the coach of the national team with India playing 13 Test matches in a long home season, which started with New Zealand’s tour of India. They then hosted England for 5 Test matches, 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is. In early February, Bangladesh made their first visit to India to play a Test match against their neighbours. Following the one-off Test, it was time for Australia to come to the subcontinent. The four-match Test series witnessed a whole host of controversies along with immensely competitive cricket.
India went on to grab all the four Test series’. They also won the two limited-overs series against England. It was a spectacular 2016-17 season for the No.1 Test team in the world, despite the one loss to Australia in Pune.
The former Indian skipper one of India’s most successful spinners in the history of the game retired from all forms of the game ahead of the 2011 IPL. As per the recommendation of BCCI’s three-member advisory committee, Kumble was appointed as the head coach of the Indian team in June 2016.
Jumbo, as he is fondly called, will be etched in the history books for his amazing figures of 10/74 in Delhi, where he ran through the entire Pakistani batting line-up. Anil Kumble became only the second bowler after Jim Laker to have taken all 10 wickets in an innings.
They have reached the destination and he once again posted a picture as they were all geared up in their wildlife sighting attire.
