'India here we come' - David Warner is excited on returning to India for the ODI series
Following the first ODI in Mumbai, the caravan of the three-match series will move to Rajkot before it culminates at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on January 19th.
India vs Australia – Tests, ODIs or T20Is, whichever format it is- it is regarded as the biggest rivalry of cricket in the 21st century. During the course of the past twenty years, these two proud cricketing nations have played a plethora of heart-pumping encounters across all formats of the game that has proceeded to keep the fans hooked and wanting for more.
It has been competitive, enthralling- at times controversial- and riveting stuff every time these two cricketing nations lock horns on the cricketing field. Another chapter of the engrossing rivalry is set to take place with the Australians on their way to India for a three-match One-day International series, starting January 14th. The Australian outfit left for India on Thursday and swashbuckling opener David Warner is really looking forward to the challenge and also on meeting his Indian fans.
The southpaw took to Instagram where he posted a photo of himself in the plane with a heartfelt caption, “India here we come!! It’s going to be a great 3 game series. Looking forward to seeing all our Indian fans”
Australia won the ODI series 3-2, the last time they were in India
The last time Australia toured India for a white-ball series, they were without the services of David Warner and Steven Smith. But, despite their absence, the visitors managed a pull-off a major coup when they turned the tables on the home side with a 2-0 series win in T20Is followed by a come-from-behind 3-2 win in the One-day Internationals.
India, of-course, avenged the shock series loss with a comprehensive win over the Aussies in the 2019 World Cup in England, but they would hope to avenge the 3-2 defeat at home last year when both sides lock horns at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, come January 14th.
