South Africa has posted two back to back 400 plus scores after losing badly against India and now they are all set to finish second in the Pool B after the League Rounds. In Pool A, the one who wins the game between Australia and Sri Lanka on 8th March at Sydney Cricket Ground will finish second in Pool A. But, looking at the form of Australia in their recent home games, we can safely assume that Australia may outsmart Sri Lanka at the SCG.
The match between England and Bangladesh on 9th March at Adelaide Oval will decide that who will be the fourth qualifier from Pool A. If England don’t mess it up and if both the teams play according to their potential than England may manage to come out on top after the match.
In Pool B, things are getting really exciting as it’s difficult to decide that who will finish on third and fourth position respectively. But, looking at today’s match between South Africa and Ireland, the Irish were hammered on a 201 run defeat and this has affected their NRR big time which is a huge relief for Pakistan and Pakistani fans.
The match between Pakistan and Ireland on 15th March at Adelaide Oval will decide that who will make it to the next round, coincidentally this is also the last match of the League Round, so it won’t be clear that who’s going to make it to the quarter’s until the last match which adds to the spice of the events.
Can Pakistan defeat Ireland this time or will Ireland repeat what they did in CWC 2007? Looking at the performance of Pakistan against Zimbabwe, it seems that Ireland will somehow manage to defeat to Pakistan. But the Irish should also win their match against Zimbabwe, if they have to make it to the next round.
