“FTP is equally packed”- BCCI official
India will also host five One Day Internationals and a couple of T20 Internationals against Australia this year. Meanwhile, there are won’t be any triangular series in the country slotted in the Future Tours Programme (FTP). “In case a window is available, we cannot plan a tri-series because all the teams’ FTP is equally packed. So the chances are remote,” a BCCI official mentioned.
The official also mentioned about the broadcaster’s issue of fees surrounding the India and non-India games. Also, India won’t host either of Sri Lanka and Pakistan in the next five years. As per the ICC, every team has to play a minimum of six series, home and away in a period of four years, which would eventually decide the finalists of the ICC Test Championship.
In 2018, India have already had a couple of International assignments in South Africa and Sri Lanka respectively. While in the Rainbow nation, they played an ODI and T20I series, the participated in the triangular T20I series featuring Sri Lanka and Bangladesh as well.
