India are currently playing a five-match ODI series against Windies, which they are leading 1-0. The first match turned out to be one-sided as Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s twin-centuries got the Men in Blue over the line while chasing a 300 plus target. In the second match in Visakhapatnam, the visiting team put forth a sterling show and managed to eke out a tie.
The third encounter is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 27 in Pune. After the 50-overs series, India will lock horns with the Caribbean team in a three-match T20I series, which starts on November 4 at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Thereafter, India are set to play three T20Is against Australia in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney respectively.
In the meantime, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is most likely to announce the T20I squads for both the series as per reports in Times Now. India are presently the second-ranked team in the shortest format and they are expected to perform handsomely in both the series. The Men in Blue had an impressive time in the Asia Cup and the Test series.
Australia series won’t be easy for India
The likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat led their team with authority and carved the incredible victories. The Australian tour won’t be a cakewalk for them though. Last time around in 2016, India whitewashed the Aussies in the three-match T20I series and would be hoping to replicate their show in the upcoming fixtures as well.
In Australia, they will also play four Tests and three ODIs until Friday, January 18. Thereafter, Virat Kohli and Co are scheduled to tour New Zealand for a limited-overs series. The World Cup starts on May 30 and the Asian giants are speculated to be among the firm favourites to lift the trophy.
