The India colts had an outstanding campaign in the recently-concluded ICC U19 World Cup 2022 in the West Indies where they not only emerged triumphant but also succeeded in keeping their undefeated streak intact throughout the tournament. The youngsters held their nerves especially in the knockout stages when things seemed to be slipping out of their hands and ended up doing the unthinkable.

After the Boys In Blue showcased a spectacular performance in the Caribbean, congratulatory messages started pouring in from India and across the world. They have also been offered monetary benefits as a reward for their hard work from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Now, the next generation of cricketers has arrived back in the country with the biggest prize in junior cricket after having got the better of England in the summit clash by four wickets.

India U19 team receive heroes’ welcome on arrival to the country

Just days after clinching a record fifth U19 World Cup, the Yash Dhull-led side landed back in India on Tuesday. As per reports in the Hindustan Times, the squad boarded their flight back home from the West Indies via Amsterdam and Dubai before landing in Bengaluru on Tuesday morning. They would now be heading to Ahmedabad later in the day where BCCI has planned to organize a felicitation ceremony for them which is supposedly scheduled for Wednesday.

The colts showed a lot of grit and determination in the U19 World Cup. In fact, they overcame all odds to be crowned world champions. The Hrishikesh Kanitkar-coached side had suffered a huge setback in the initial stages of the competition when some of their key players including the likes of skipper Yash Dhull and promising batter Shaik Rasheed had to miss a couple of group stage games after being tested positive for COVID-19.

Despite that, the entire team showed a great amount of resilience and their never-say-die attitude helped them in going all the way in the competition. After the felicitation ceremony, all eyes will be on this week’s IPL 2022 mega auction in Bengaluru and it remains to be seen how many of those emerging talents would be roped in by the 10 teams for the 15th edition of the marquee tournament.
