India U19 team shows immense respect to Rahul Dravid after their World Cup win

Indian U19 team has won a lot of praise for their superb performances. The young Indian team was outstanding throughout the tournament. They thrashed every opposition that came in their way. Their opponents couldn’t even sniff at victories. The boys played six games in New Zealand and won each and every game in a formidable fashion.

Stars like Shubman Gill, Prithvi Shaw, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Manjot Kalra and many more emerged. The final was owned by the Indian bowlers. Four bowlers picked up eight wickets, split up as two each. Australia was stopped at 216 as they failed to complete their quota of 50 overs. India’s batting was never a problem as they cruised to the victory.

Manjot Kalra played a special inning to give India the crown. Shaw and Gill were sent back after getting good starts. It was Kalra who scored 101 runs and Harvik Desai with 47 not out who took India home. The eight-wicket win over the mighty Australian U19 team saw India being crowned as the World Champions.

Shubman Gill won the Man of the tournament award. He scored in excess of 300 runs at a staggering average of 124. His batting prowess earned him an Indian Premier League contract. There were other young players who earned an IPL contract as well. However, there was something even better the young guns of India did.

Great gesture of Indian U19 team

Prithvi Shaw, the U19 captain, talked to Simon Doull about how great his team’s performance was throughout the year. He was then handed the trophy by an ICC official. The party started soon after as everybody went haywire. However, after a moment or two, the whole team ran with the trophy towards their coach, Rahul Dravid.

This gesture won many hearts over the internet and the team was lauded for it. The maturity and the respect they showed even in the winning moments was commendable. After handing over the trophy to Rahul, he was more than happy as even he engaged in the celebrations.
