India undoubtedly is one of the best teams in the world: Taskin Ahmed

Team Bangladesh has arrived in India and is ready for the one-off Test against India. One of their leading pace bowlers, Taskin Ahmed, sees the Test as a good opportunity for the team. He believes that the match could potentially help the Bangladesh team to a great extent. Their performances can help them strengthen their claim that they are no longer the pushovers in the international cricket. In a recent conversation with the Times of India, the pace bowler spoke at length about the various possible prospects of the game. The highlight of the conversation was his opinion about Indian skipper Virat Kohli.

Talking about Virat Kohli, Taskin Ahmed noted that the Indian star is the best batsman in the world. Hence getting rid of Kohli early on in the innings is something that the visitors will be keen on doing. He also expressed his happiness over playing in India. Bangladesh will be playing their first ever Test match in India ever since getting their Test status. He believes that if they do well, it will be a big boost for the team.

“It is a really good feeling to play in India because we are playing a Test match here for the first time. It is a good platform and opportunity to show the world that we can play good cricket. India undoubtedly is one of the best teams in the world. If we perform well, it will be a big boost to our team,” said Taskin Ahmed.

“India have very good batsmen and the top order is very strong. It is always challenging to bowl against the top batting line up which has (Virat) Kohli in it. It will be a good feeling if I take the wicket of Kohli. After all he is the No.1 batsman in the world. Taking early wickets will be very crucial for us but getting Kohli’s wicket very early in the innings will be a dream come true for me,” the pacer said about Virat Kohli.

Speaking about the team, he is happy for the fact that there is a lot of healthy competition in the team. He also cited that they will definitely miss Mustafizur Rahman on the tour but are confident of putting up a good show.

“In Bangladesh a lot of fast bowlers are emerging on the scene. In the team to owe have a good potential in this department. Of course, we are going to miss Mustafizur (Rahman). If he had been here, it would have been enjoyable. It is becoming competitive for each one of us,” reflected Taskin Ahmed.
