2. Haseeb Hameed bats with a broken finger
Young opener Haseeb Hameed made an impressive start to his Test career. As a 19-year old, he showed great promise and temperament in extreme conditions. Hameed had an impressive start to his career with a defining 82 in the Rajkot Test. He failed to continue the good run in the match that followed. The third Test at Mohali saw the best of Hameed come to the fore. England were down and out in their second innings.
Hameed had earlier injured his finger in the match. Hence, he did not turn up to open the innings in the second innings. But the situation demanded him to bat else England were moving to an innings defeat. He came in at number 8 and batted with a broken finger for close to a couple of sessions. His effort of 59 with a broken finger in 156 balls was an innings of grit. England managed to avoid the innings defeat kudos to his knock.
