India broke the jinx of not starting too well in the recent Test and ODI series against Sri Lanka by registering a huge win in the first of the 3-match T20I series in Cuttack. KL Rahul’s fifty, MS Dhoni and Manish Pandey’s finishing touches helped India to post 180/3 in the 20 overs. The visiting side never looked comfortable in the chase and were wrapped by for only 87 runs with the Indian wrist spinners Yuzvendra Chahal (4) and Kuldeep Yadav (2) shared six wickets between them.

2 – Yuzvendra Chahal became the 2nd Indian after Ravichandran Ashwin to pick multiple four-wicket hauls in T20I cricket. He is also the first Indian and the 6th player overall to take multiple T20I 4-fers in a calendar year.
4 – MS Dhoni’s four dismissals in the game are the joint most by an Indian wicketkeeper in a T20I game. Dhoni made four dismissals in WT20 game in 2010 against Afghanistan and also in the 2012 WT20 against Pakistan. He is the only wicketkeeper with four dismissals in a T20I on three different occasions.
5 – Number of instances of MS Dhoni hitting a six on the final ball of the 20th over in T20I cricket. No other player has hit a six on the final ball of the 20th over more than twice.
10 – Angelo Mathews dismissed Rohit Sharma for the 10th time in International cricket. The Sri Lankan dismissed Rohit on seven occasions in ODI cricket and twice in Tests before today.
19 – Chahal’s 19 T20I wickets in 2017 are the most by any player this year. He went past Rashid Khan and Kesrick Williams’ tally of 17 wickets in this format.
50 – This win was the 50th win for Rohit Sharma as a captain in Twenty20 cricket. He became the 7th player and the 3rd Indian to win 50 T20s as a captain.
87 – Sri Lanka’s total of 87/10 is their joint 2nd lowest total in the T20I format. Their lowest came against India only when they were bowled out for 82 in last year’s T20I in Vizag. Sri Lanka were bowled out for 87 in the 2010 WT20 game against Australia.
93 – India’s 93-run win in this game is their biggest win in the T20I format in terms of runs. India won by 90 runs in the 2012 WT20 game against England in Colombo. This is also Sri Lanka’s biggest defeat in this format in terms of runs. They lost to Australia by 85 runs in the last year’s Pallekele T20I.
201 – MS Dhoni became the 2nd wicketkeeper after Kamran Akmal (207) to complete 200 dismissals in Twenty20 cricket with the four dismissals in the match.
