All the stats and numbers ahead of the crucial 2nd ODI game between India and Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka registered a huge win the first of the 3-match ODI series against India to bring an end to their 12-match losing streak in the ODI format. They will need another one good effort in the remaining two games under their new skipper Thisara Perera to break the jinx of winning an ODI series on Indian soil. Rohit Sharma, who also leading his team for the first time in ODI cricket, will look to make a count of his recent form and square the series at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali.
All the stats and numbers ahead of the crucial 2nd ODI game between India and Sri Lanka:
2 – Number of individual hundreds for India at Mohali’s PCA Stadium in ODI cricket. These are the joint fewest for India in a home venue where they played more than ten ODIs. India had only two individual hundreds in the ten ODIs played at Guwahati’s Nehru Stadium and two in 19 ODI games at the Feroz Shah Kotla.
3 – Sri Lanka featured in three ODI games at the PCA Stadium in Mohali. They defeated Pakistan in 1997 and Bangladesh in 2006 but lost to India in 2005. Sri Lanka were bowled out for 122 in the 2005 ODI while India chased down the target by 21st over with eight wickets in hand.
4 – Dharamsala ODI was only the 4th instance in the 18 bilateral series between India and Sri Lanka where India lost the first ODI game of the series. Sri Lanka defeated in the opening game of the 1986 series in India and 1997 and 2008 ODI series hosted by Sri Lanka. India came back to win the 1986 and 2008 series while Sri Lanka whitewashed India in the 1997 series.

112 – India recorded their lowest total while batting first at home during the first ODI game. The 176-ball margin in the game was also the biggest in terms of balls remaining for a visiting team against India.
953 – Runs aggregated by Niroshan Dickwella in ODI cricket in the 29 innings he has batted so far. He needs 47 more runs to complete the 1000 runs milestone.
2009 – The last instance of Sri Lanka winning an ODI against India in India before the Dharamsala ODI was back in 2009 in Nagpur. India won eight of the nine ODIs they played at home against Sri Lanka before Sunday.
