India v Sri Lanka: MS Dhoni rolls his arm over in the nets ahead of first ODI
The first ODI will be played at Dharamsala.
Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni was recently spotted trying his hands at bowling during the Indian team practice session. Team India is all set to host Sri Lanka for 3 ODIs and the 3 T20Is in the span of next couple of weeks. The limited overs cricket action follows the Test series which the hosts managed to win with a 1-0 scoreline. Now, the wicketkeeper-batsman, who has retired from Test cricket, has joined the Indian camp.
It is not an unknown fact that MS Dhoni is arguably the most popular face in the Indian team. For this particular series, the selectors have opted for a new look young side which features Rohit Sharma as the captain. Dhoni is the seniormost member of the team and will be an ideal mentor and guide for the young players in the side. Before the first ODI, the team had a grilling practice session.
The first ODI of the three match series will be played at Dharamsala. During the practice session at the venue, Dhoni opted to have a bit of bowling practice too. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) very well knows that MS Dhoni is a crowd favorite. They posted a video of Dhoni bowling in the nets on their official social media handles after the practice sessions.
They also added a perfect caption for the former Indian captain. “Is there anything that @msdhoni cannot do? You have seen him bowl leg spin now it is time for seam up. #INDvSL,” tweeted the BCCI.
In the video, Dhoni is bowling to the left handed batsman Axar Patel. He bowled three good length deliveries and managed to beat the batsman twice in those three deliveries. This is not the first time that Dhoni has been seen rolling his arms over. Interestingly, Dhoni has international wickets to his name too!
