After a long overseas tour of Australia and New Zealand, India will be playing at their own backyard against the mighty Australians. This will be the last white ball series before the world cup, so the squad which you will watch this series will be the same quite similar as the 15 member world cup squad. This series will start from February 24 and comprises of two T20Is and five ODIs, starting from Vizag.
The last two T20I series against Australian have been levelled up, In 2017-18 tour Australia played 3 T20Is on Indian soil, both of them won one each and last was rain affected and same was the case with a 2018-19 tour to Australia. So India will be looking for a clean sweep as they have a much better side when compared to Australia.
Ahead of this series, the Indian team have dealt with a major blow with All-rounder Hardik Pandya being ruled out of the series due to the lower back issue. Chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav has been given much-needed rest and filling his boots will be young spinner Mayank Markande. Start players Virat Kohli and JaspritBhumrah are back in action after a long rest, along with them KL Rahul also been named in the 15 men T20I squad.
On the Other hand, Australian are coming off a good big bash season, some of their players had an amazing BBL08. D’Arcy Short was the leading run scorer in this BBL season, due to this performance he has been called back in the squad. Along with him Marcus Stoinis (most valuable player), Glenn Maxwell and Kane Richardson (leading wicket-taker) have been in good nick this season.
Australia have quite a good team in the T20 format, so It would be interesting to see the combination that Australia chooses to field in the first T20I.
