India vs Australia, 2019 - The predicted squad of India for T20I series

The final assignment for Team India ahead of IPL 2019 will be against Australia. After a gap of just over a month, the Men in Blue will take the Kangaroo again in home conditions starting with the T20Is. The two-match T20I series will be followed by a 5-match ODI series.

This will be the last international series for India ahead of World Cup 2019 while Australia is slated to play Pakistan after this. There sure wouldn’t be too much of experimentation with the Indian squad for this series. The selectors could pick the players whom they’ve got in minds for the World Cup. This will be an opportunity to zero down upon the options available and come to a consensus.

Here is the predicted T20I squad for India

Rohit Sharma is likely to be rested for these two games. Therefore, Shikhar Dhawan might have KL Rahul back as his opening partner. While this may puzzle you, if you’ve been following domestic cricket closely, Rahul is finding his mojo back. He hit back-to-back 80-plus scores against England Lions and could be provided with another opportunity.

Then, Virat Kohli will be back at number three and will lead the side. He has had a decent amount of break and should be eager to get back onto the field. All the three wicket-keepers, who were a part of the T20Is against New Zealand, will most probably continue in the squad. MS Dhoni, Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh Pant will need more games under their belt ahead of the quadrennial tournament.

Also, the troika of Vijay Shankar, Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya will definitely make it into the squad. If Shankar gets his opportunity, the management will look to test his bowling skills as well. Both the Pandya brothers will look to make their mark after the mediocre series against New Zealand.

The biggest addition to the bowling line-up will be Jasprit Bumrah. He has been out of action for a while now and will look forward to getting back into the groove. He will share the pace bowling duties along with Bhuvneshwar Kumar who is just finding his form back.

Kuldeep Yadav might be rested and thus Yuzvendra Chahal will be the lone spinner in the bowling department. At least one player between Khaleel Ahmed and Mohammad Siraj will get a place. If the selectors pick a 14-man squad, both of them might be picked.
