India vs Australia: Rohit Sharma does fake fielding; umpires fail to notice
Sharma made some good use of his brain to fool Labuschagne and Smith.
The second ODI of the three-match series between India and Australia is currently underway. The Men in Blue are coming off a 10-wicket drubbing in the first game however, Virat Kohli’s side has performed well in the second match. The batsmen batted brilliantly in the first innings to post a total of 340/6 on the board.
Later in the second innings, Australia lost their top two batsmen which united the pair of Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne together. The pair built a solid partnership for the third wicket before Ravindra Jadeja got the better of Labuschagne. However, Rohit Sharma’s antiques on the cricket field have caught the attention of the cricket world.
Rohit Sharma fakes a throw, the umpires do not notice!
Indian opener Rohit Sharma had earlier stolen the show with his tennis forehand shot off Kane Richardson’s delivery but while fielding for the Indian team in the second innings, he faked a throw while the ball was going away from him. The visibility of the ball becomes low during the night and so the batsmen take note of the fielders’ actions while running between the wickets.
Sharma made some good use of his brain to fool Labuschagne and Smith as he acted like he was executing a throw when Labuschagne hit one of Kuldeep Yadav’s deliveries behind the wicket. However, the ball went towards the fielder behind him who later threw it. Labuschagne even tried to point out Rohit’s fake throw but, the umpires did not notice.

Steve Smith gives Australia the edge
Chasing a mammoth total of 341 runs to win the series, Australia lost its openers Aaron Finch and David Warner early. Number 3 batsman Steve Smith has steadied the boat for them but the right-handed batsman got out on 98 as he failed to reach the three-figure mark.
Australia still need more than 100 runs to win from 10 overs and Jasprit Bumrah still has 3 overs left. It will be intriguing to see which team comes out on top in this run-fest at Rajkot. If Australia wins this game, they will record their second consecutive ODI series win over India.
