5. Washington Sundar
The 21-year-old Washington Sundar has emerged as a formidable bowler in the shortest format of the game owing to his ability to put a halt on the runs especially during the powerplay. In recent times, Sudar has been a constant in India’s T20I squad and boasts of having 25 wickets from 30 games.
However, the spin all-rounder is unlikely to find a place for himself in the three-match ODI series against England as India is already equipped with two experienced spinners in the form of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal. Also, another spin all-rounder Krunal Pandya is more likely to get a chance as he can contribute with the bat more and is coming after a stunning session in the 2020-21 edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
In addition, Sundar’s List-A records aren’t very impressive as thus far he has featured in 39 List-A matches scalping 24 wickets at an economy of 4.62 along with scoring 427 runs at a mere average of 20.3.
