The craze for the game of cricket is quite evident among the people in India and it is a known fact that the sport is treated no less than a religion in the country. Over the years, there have been many instances when people have done extreme things to watch their favourite cricketers play live or on their television or phone screens.

A similar kind of incident surfaced on social media where some die-hard fans of the Indian cricket team depicted their craziness for the players by streaming the live telecast of the ongoing first Test of the four-match Test series between England and India at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai at their wedding venue. The guests and the family members didn’t have to choose between attending the wedding and watching the match as they could do both things simultaneously.

The picture of the same extensively went viral on social networking sites. A member of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Indian Premier League (IPL) Media and communications team, Moulin Parikh shared the picture of this unique wedding on his official Twitter handle and mentioned that streaming matches on the weddings should be mandatory from now on.

Parikh wrote, “Have skipped many family functions as they coincided with #TeamIndia matches in the pre-digital era. Wedding invites now must mention that the match will be streamed live to ensure full attendance. #INDvsENG. Camera – Akshay Natarajan”

Ravi Ashwin scripts history in the Test match in Chennai

India were in big trouble after the completion of the two innings as England had put up a mammoth total of 578 runs on the board while they could manage only 337 runs. England was all set to increase their lead by presenting another stunning show with the bat in the third innings but the spinner Ravi Ashwin had some other plans.

Ashwin went all guns blazing against the opponents’ feeble batting line-up as he produced one of the most brilliant spells of his cricket career. The spinner ran through England’s batting order and scalped a whopping six wickets while conceding 61 runs at an economy rate of 3.5. This resulted in Englishmen getting bundled out for 178 runs in the third innings and setting a target of 420 runs for India to chase in the fourth innings.
