India vs England: Michael Vaughan predicts scoreline of the ODI series
The England cricket team will now be hoping to make a comeback in the One Day Internationals.
The touring side England isn’t having an ideal outing in India as they have majorly outplayed by the Men in Blue in all the facets of the game. The England tour of India had commenced with the four-match Test series, with the first two matches MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai followed by the last two fixtures at newly-built Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad.
England had started the tour on a fantastic note as they had registered a scintillating win by a massive 227 runs in the first Test match. However, the second game saw an epic comeback by the host team as they won the game by 317 runs. After that, there was no looking back as India went on to win the pink-ball Test by 10 wickets while they emerged victorious in the final match by an innings and 25 runs to win the series by 4-1.
The Test series followed the two cricketing superpowers locking horns against each other in the five-match T20I series. The shortest format of the game made an interesting contest as India clinched the second and fourth game while England emerged victorious in the first and third match. However, in the fifth match, Virat Kohli & co. outplayed Eoin Morgan & Men to win the series by 3-2.
The England cricket team will now be hoping to make a comeback in the One Day Internationals and end the tour on the winning note by clinching the three-match ODI series, scheduled on March 23, March 26, and March 28 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.
England ODI Squad does not feature Jofra Archer and Joe Root
However, the former England captain Michael Vaughan believes otherwise as he has predicted that India will have the last laugh in the tour by a clean-sweep in the ODI series. Vaughan is of the view that England will be severely impacted by the absence of their pace mainstay Jofra Archer and swashbuckling batsman Joe Root. The veteran took to his official Twitter handle to predict the result of the series.
“Early One-day series prediction …. India will win 3-0 !!! No Root or Archer … #INDvENG” Vaughan tweeted.
Joe Root didn’t find a place in England’s ODI squad as he had traveled back to England after the conclusion of the Test series while it is learned that Jofra Archer’s elbow injury has been aggregated and thus he has been deemed unfit for selection by ECB.
