India vs England: Michael Vaughan suggests two changes to India ahead of ODI series decider
India England ODI series is currently locked at 1-1.
India will be up against England in the third and final ODI of the series on 28 March in Pune. With the series locked at 1-1 now, both parties would be looking forward to bring their best show on the table to steal the limelight. As far as hosts are concerned, it is expected of them to make some changes for the series decider. India’s bowling show especially the spin department was at the receiving end of all the critics during the 2nd ODI.
In the same reference, former England skipper and commentator Michael Vaughan has suggested two changes to the host side for the final show. He has suggested India to go with Washington Sundar and T Natarajan in the final ODI. Sundar might be roped in place of Kuldeep Yadav who went too costly and wicketless in the last two outings. Natarajan might pitch in place of Shardul Thakur. Vaughan believes that with these two changes, India can attack better at the top.
Vaughan points out two changes for India
“I guess it depends on how much the teams put on this one game and a series victory. Are they that desperate for the team to win that they may risk Hardik Pandya bowling? We don’t know how bad his body is right now. I’d bring in Natarajan, the left-armer. Washington Sundar for [Kuldeep] Yadav as well so you pack your batting and you can go a bit harder at the top,” said Vaughan on Cricbuzz.
Talking about the visiting side then England put up a great show in the 2nd ODI and bounced back too well in the series in absence of Eoin Morgan. Vaughan has suggested England to go with Mark Wood if he is fit in place of Tom Curran and has preferred spinner Matthew Parkinson in place of Adil Rashid.
“Mark Wood may get a mention if his body is fine. He may come in for Tom Curran. I thought Reece Topley was very good. They would have wanted to give Parkinson a go but I don’t know if they’ll throw him in for a game. It depends how much importance they put on this one-off decider,” concluded Vaughan.
