India vs England: Ravi Ashwin leaves the fans bewildered with his cryptic tweet
The words by Ravi Ashwin left many fans flabbergasted as they couldn't make out what exactly the spinner wanted to convey.
India’s veteran off-spinner Ravi Ashwin achieved a remarkable feat during the pink-ball Test between India and England at Motera Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad as he became the second-fastest bowler after Muttiah Muralitharan to pick a whopping 400 wickets in the purest format of the game. Featuring in his 77th Test game for India, Ashwin named England’s pace all-rounder Jofra Archer as his 400th wicket.
Meanwhile, the right-arm spinner managed to confuse the Indian fans as he came up with a cryptic post on Twitter a day after India scripted a memorable victory against England in the third Test by 10 wickets. In a series of tweets on his official Twitter handle, Ashwin indirectly reckoned that one should bother about the outside noise and should continue playing their game. In his write-up, the veteran used terms like outbound marketing and selling of products.
“Products are sold using various marketing strategies and that’s an accepted practice! We now live in an era where ideas are also being sold to us and it’s a classic example of ‘outbound marketing’, however I would like to add that buying ideas being sold to us is like telling us
“‘you can’t think on your own’ and here we will teach you how to think and also help you think the way we want you to think. After having played the game at this level for a decade, I can safely say that ‘As long as we are going to buy it, they will shove it down our throat’,” the 34-year-old tweeted.
Fans come up with their assumptions – A dig at Yuvraj Singh?
“Finally. We can always have and stand by our opinions even if it’s against the majority as long as we know that it is our own and not the one that’s been sold to us! ‘The choice is always ours’,” he further added.
The words by Ravi Ashwin left many fans flabbergasted as they couldn’t make out what exactly the spinner wanted to convey. However, some fans reckoned that with his tweet, Ashwin has taken an indirect jibe at former all-rounder Yuvraj Singh for his comments regarding the pitch of Ahmedabad.
After the Test match between India and England had ended within just two days, Yuvraj had taken to his Twitter handle to take a dig saying that Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh would have easily picked 800 wickets while playing at Motera.
