Ravichandran Ashwin is a master of bowling in conditions which offer spin. On day two of the second Test between India and England in Chennai, the Indian off-spinner was at it once again. Ashwin produced an absolute beauty of a delivery to bowled Ben Stokes and got rid of the England all-rounder.
The incident happened at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on day two of the second Test when England was battling it out in the first innings. For England, Stokes had looked the most comfortable on the wicket which was turning a lot. But, Ashwin set the left-handed batsman beautifully before delivering the magical ball to send him back to the dressing room.
The spinner was bowling the 24th over of the innings when he bowled a good length delivery. The next ball slowly drifted onto the middle-stump from a high-arm angle. The batsman trying to whip the ball for a single to the leg side failed to make any contact with the ball. The delivery jumped after hitting the pitch and ended up dislodging the off stump of the Stokes.

The England vice-captain looked completely frustrated with himself for not being able to judge the line of the delivery. However, there wasn’t a lot which he could have done as it was an absolutely brilliant delivery from the veteran off-spinner. Here is the video of the dismissal:

With this wicket, the Tamil Nadu spinner managed to go past Harbhajan Singh to become the second-highest wicket-taker at home. He is now only behind Anil Kumble who has 350 wickets at home, while Ashwin has 267 wickets.
England got wrapped up at 134 runs and have handed a 195 runs lead to India after they bowled out India for 329 runs early on the second day. Ashwin took a magnificent fifer while debutant Axar Patel picked up two wickets. Indian pacers Ishant Sharma got two under his belt and Mohammad Siraj picked up a wicket. It will be a thing to see how India will take up the momentum ahead.
