India’s young wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant is arguably one of the best power-hitters in modern-era cricket. There is no doubt over the damage Pant can do to the opposition’s bowling unit on his day irrespective of the team he is playing against. After stamping his authority with the willow in the purest format and shortest format of the game, the 23-year-old has been successful in weaving his magic in One Day Internationals too.

Rishabh had to sit out in the first ODI of the three-match series against England as KL Rahul was selected ahead of Pant as the first-choice keeper of the hosts. However, an injury to Shreyas Iyer paved a way for Pant in the Playing XI of the second ODI and he made a comeback in the 50-over format after over a year.

The Delhi Stalwart grabbed the opportunity with both hands as he played a scintillating knock of 77 runs in just 40 deliveries in the second T20 International. The young rookie carried forward his tremendous form in the last ODI too as he looks in good touch in the ongoing match and has been successful in launching an assault on the opposition bowlers right from the first ball.

Rishabh Pant plays an outrageous shot

Surprising the audience with some outrageous shots is not new for Rishabh Pant and he did the exact same again in the first ball of 23rd over by spinner Adil Rashid. Rashid bowled a leg-break to the batsman but the bowler was in for a shock as Pant went deep and closed his bat early to smash a helicopter shot and push the ball towards the boundary line.

This is not the only innovative shot played by the 23-year-old in the ongoing ODI against England as Pant successfully completed his half-century in 44 deliveries and took the two spinners including the likes of Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali for cleaners. He along with Hardik Pandya has been stitching a crucial partnership on the field to prevent India from a collapse after they lost the wickets of their four batsmen including Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul early in the game.
