India vs England: Umesh Yadav likely to return to the mix for the pink ball Test
Pacer Umesh Yadav has cleared his mandatory tests as per the reports.
The action for the third Test between India and England is all set to reach Ahmedabad, and it will be a day-night affair which will be played with the pink ball. The first two matches took place in Chennai, and the pitches went all in favour of spinners. Due to the same, India went with three spinners both in the first and second Test, but it is being expected that India will go with its traditional three pacers model in the pink-ball Test.
It has been reported that pacer Umesh Yadav will return into the playing XI for the third Test. Along with Ishant Sharma, the team might be looking up to rope in their veteran pacer in form of Yadav as he has already cleared all his mandatory fitness tests to join the lot. With his inclusion, Shardul Thakur has been released from the pool so that he can ply his trade for Mumbai in Vijay Hazare Trophy.
“We are exploring different scenarios about the Test, and the main concern is neither twilight nor the pink ball. It is the dew factor that is a worry, and we are thinking about how to handle the situation. There is a lot of dew in the evenings, and we want to make sure it does not become a major disadvantage,” read reports as quoted by Cricbuzz.
The third India-England Test important with respect to WTC finals
Talking about the pitches of India, all-rounder Ben Stokes has brushed off all the critics who are constantly talking about the pitch. He stated that a fine player should know to play in all kinds of pitches. The series currently stands leveled at 1-1, and it will be a thing to see how teams will try their best to turn tables in their favour. The first match of the series was won by visitors, whereas hosts bounced back too well in the subsequent Test.
The victory in the 3rd Test will be too significant for the team as they have to make their case serious for the finale of the World Test Championship, where New Zealand has already reached.
