India vs England: Virat Kohli complains on-field umpire about visiting batsmen running on middle of the pitch
Virat Kohli complained about the same incident to on-field umpire Nitin Menon.
India is up against England for the first Test of the four-match Test series at Chennai, where they are trying their level best to draw the game. After India’s historic win in Australia last month, they were looking favourites to seal the England series, but things didn’t go the same way. England put up an emphatic show at Chepauk and scored massive 578 runs in the first innings of the game.
However, when the pitch started turning, they were bundled up at 178 runs in the second innings. In the meantime, one thing started disturbing skipper Virat Kohli, and he complained of the same to on-field umpire Nitin Menon. Some England batsmen were seen running on the pitch in the fag of their innings, and Kohli lost his cool during the course.
The video of the same incident started doing rounds of social media as the skipper was caught shouting, “Oye, Menon, Seedhe run bhee bich me bhag raha hai yaar. (He’s even running easy singles in the middle of the pitch.”

Talking of the match in the current situation, India is reeling at 159 runs after the loss of six wickets. Virat Kohli and Ravi Ashwin are on the crease, and with a massive score ahead of them, it is quite clear that they would be only looking up for a draw. Kohli and company haven’t lost a Test match at home and would not like to spot their records.
India vs England in the 1st Test
During India’s second innings, the big names like Rohit Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Ajinkya Rahane failed to get in the rhythm to eye a big score. However, fifty from young Shubman Gill’s bat did give a little ray of hope to the team. Ace pacer James Anderson turned up with the best show as he picked three major wickets in the crucial hours. Kohli and Ashwin are currently up on the pitch with 55 and 9 runs, respectively in their bags. It will be a thing to see how India would carry up its show from this point.
