India vs Sri Lanka, 2nd T20I: Match Preview, Playing XI and broadcast details
While India will look to pocket another bilateral series at home, Sri Lanka will be hoping that they live to fight another day.
India were superior to the Sri Lankan side in the 1st T20I in Lucknow. The Indian batters, led by Ishan Kishan plundered the Sri Lankan bowling attack to submission, piled up a massive total of 199/2 on the board, and then restricted the Sri Lankan outfit to just 137/6.
Youngster Kishan was unstoppable and scored a murderous 89 off just 56 deliveries. Shreyas Iyer also chipped in with a blazing 57* at a strike rate in excess of 200 as the Sri Lanka bowling attack was rendered clueless.
With the ball, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was outstanding, as he scalped 2 wickets in his 2-over spell and leaked only 9 runs, while Venkatesh Iyer also chipped in with a couple of scalps as well.
So, Sri Lanka will be under a lot of pressure coming into the 2nd T20I as a loss would mean that they surrender the series. Apart from Charith Asalanka, none of the other Sri Lankan batters looked comfortable, and the visitors would need to put up a better show in the 2nd rubber in order to stay alive in the series.
On the other hand, India ticked all the boxes in the 1st T20I and will look to pocket another bilateral series at home. Can Sri Lanka live to fight another day?
Pitch and Conditions
The pitch at the picturesque Dharamsala is one that will help both the batters and the bowlers. While the batters will get value for the shots that they play, there will be some movement for the fast bowlers early on.
