The Windies are scheduled to play a couple of Tests, followed five ODIs and three T20Is against India, starting Thursday, October 4. The first Test is scheduled to be played at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. The ODI series gets underway on October 21, five days after the conclusion of the Test series. The first One-Dayer will be played at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.

The T20I series begins on November 4 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Prior to the international fixtures, the Windies will take part in a warm-up match against Board President’s eleven at Gujarat State Fertilizer Corporation Ground in Vadodara, starting Saturday, September 29. In the meantime, the Windies arrived in India today, the video of which was posted by the Instagram handle of Windies cricket.

Recent form of both teams

The Windies didn’t have an auspicious outing in their erstwhile campaign at home against Bangladesh. They won the Test series comprehensively but slumped to defeats in the ODI and T20I series. Thereafter, a number of their players plied their trade in the prestigious Caribbean Premier League (CPL), which was won by Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) on consecutive occasions.

India, on the other hand, have had a topsy-turvy run in the last three months or so. The Men in Blue emerged victorious in the T20I series against England, but failed to translate their impressive form in the ODI series and subsequently lost the series 1-2 after winning the first match at Old Trafford in Manchester. The team was a witness to a horror run in the five-match Test series.

Virat Kohli’s men won the third Test at Trent Bridge in Nottingham but lost the other four Tests at Edgbaston, Lord’s, The Rose Bowl and Kennington Oval respectively. India are currently playing the Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, their stand-in captain for the 50-overs multi-nation tournament.
