The second Test between India and Windies is currently underway in Hyderabad. Windies won the toss and opted to bat first in the game. As a result, Virat Kohli & Co were on the field at the start of the Test match. Just an hour into the morning session and one of the fans breached the security and ran onto the field from the stand he was seated in.

Mohammad Khan, the fan who wanted a selfie with the Indian skipper thus climbed up the barricades. He then jumped onto the cricket field and ran for about 70 metres towards Kohli who was standing around the pitch at that time. Khan hugged his favourite cricketer, then took a selfie and apparently also tried to kiss him. Kohli reluctantly hugged him and was trying to resist more of it before the security personnel came and took him off the field.

The fan’s joy of clicking a selfie with Virat and hugging him didn’t last long. An FIR was filed against him for breaching the security code at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal. Police inspector P Venkateswarlu informed the media that a case of trespassing was slapped against the 19-year-old. Khan belongs to Kadapa district in Andhra Pradesh as mentioned by the Times of India.

Having elected to bat first, the Windies lost a few quick wickets and were down to 113/5. Most of their batsmen, after having got off to good starts were dismissed in poor fashions putting the side in all sorts of trouble. However, a spirited fightback from Roston Chase and skipper Jason Holder put the visitors right back in the scheme of things.

This duo added 104 runs for the 7th wicket. While Chase was unbeaten two runs shy of a century at stumps on day 1, Holder was dismissed for 52 in the 90th over of the day while attempting a poor shot against Umesh Yadav. Both Umesh and Kuldeep picked three wickets each in the innings as the Windies ended the day at 295/7.
