Kedar Jadhav had expressed how flummoxed he was when the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the Indian squad for the 3rd ODI against the Windies and his name wasn’t included. He had attained full fitness after everything that happened in the Asia Cup final against Bangladesh but the selectors still had not taken him into consideration.
But the wait is over for the 33-year-old finally got a nod from the selectors for the 4th and 5th ODIs which will be taking place in Mumbai and Thiruvananthapuram respectively as per a tweet by the BCCI. Youngster Rishabh Pant was trying to make an impression as a finisher in Jadhav’s absence but it looks like he might have to make way back for the senior cricketer.
Here is BCCI’s tweet

Kedar Jadhav’s last India appearance was in the Asia Cup final against Bangladesh, where had to leave the ground midway through a tense run chase as he had picked up an injury. He eventually came back and scored the winning run for the Men in Blue, helping them defend the Asian crown in Dubai. He also played one match in the Deodhar Trophy for India ‘A’ where he spanked a quickfire 45 off 25 balls.
Kohli and company aim to take an unassailable lead in Pune
The intense drama and action now shift to Pune in this pulsating ODI series. The Indian contingent has been excellent with the bat and pretty mediocre with the ball, but the come back of Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar should strengthen their attack in the 3rd ODI in Pune on Saturday.
Virat Kohli and his troops can take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series if they can win this match. Not many would’ve anticipated such a drastic change in quality especially after the 2-match Test series ending in six cricketing days. The Windies will see this as a great opportunity to gain some confidence before the World Cup as a result in India in the limited overs is a rare sight for many big sides.
