Indian cricketers and their salaries 2021-22
BCCI has reportedly finalised the salaries of the cricketers for the period of October 2021 to September 2022.
20. Suryakumar Yadav – INR 1 crore
The solitary new inclusion to the contract list is the versatile middle-order batter, Suryakumar Yadav. It is indeed deserving for this player to get a BCCI contract. After a long struggle, this 31-year-old batter got a chance to represent the blues in 2021.
Surya grabbed the chances with both hands by performing exceptionally well and fixed his spot in the squad. On playing 14 T20I matches in 2021-22, he has hit 351 runs with a strike rate of 165.56 and in seven ODI matches, he has an average of 53.40. So, he has got his maiden contract in grade (C).
21. Hanuma Vihari – INR 1 crore
Hanuma Vihari will continue to be in grade (C) this season. He is a classic Test batter who has been representing the team since 2018. He is a technically sound batter with a calm and composed mind. Vihari was much lauded for his match-saving innings in the third Test match against Australia in Sydney.
He got injured during the Test and missed the action for quite some time. He made a comeback against South Africa in which he played three Tests in 2021-22 and hit 145 runs at an average of 43. With the exclusion of Rahane and Pujara from the Test squad, Vihari would get many chances to play and batted at number three in 1st Test vs Sri Lanka.
