Indian cricket's first lady Anushka Sharma lauded all over internet for taking a great initiative on her birthday

Acclaimed Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma turned 30 today, on May 1. In the cricketing circle, she is known as the first lady of Indian cricket as she is married to the national team skipper Virat Kohli. There were many speculations in the fan circles about how the newly married couple will be spending her first birthday.

The questions were answered when Virat posted a picture of himself feeding the birthday cake to his wife. As always, the picture was captioned with a loving and adorable statement where the cricketer flaunted his love. He wrote: “Happy B’day my love. The most positive and honest person I know. Love you <3”

Later on, the birthday girl herself posted a heartwarming open letter on her social media profiles, announcing the initiative she will be taking to mark her 30th nameday. She said that she will be sponsoring an animal shelter right outside Mumbai for the caring and nurturing of the homeless animals and that this endeavour is a small effort from her side to give the fellow creatures of this earth “equal rights, equal care and equal love”.

She mentioned in her letter that this has been her lifelong dream to provide the best possible care for the animals and that some profound words by His Holiness, The Dalai Lama finally inspired her enough to go ahead and do it.

“The whole purpose of being the strongest species is to look out for the welfare of all those, not so strong ones around us, so that we truly can give back to out great Mother Earth and live harmoniously,” she writes in the note.

Both Virat and Anushka have been seen before publicly speaking against animal cruelty, for animal adoption and also practising what they preach. In 2017, Kohli adopted 15 destitute dogs from an animal care centre called CARE in Bengaluru.

Anushka was lauded all across social media for this initiative by fellow actors and fans alike. Some of her new friends, like Aesha Dhawan, was also seen praising the Zero actress. Shikhar Dhawan’s wife Aesha wished Anushka ‘Happy Birthday’ on her post on Instagram and also congratulated her on taking such an important action for the society.

Aesha’s comment read: “Love you even more for what you stand for and for the actions you take!!!! Happiest birthday and thanks for giving voice and care for the ones that don’t have one!!! Have a great day and stay blessed always Love you, babe.”
