Indian fans want MS Dhoni to return as skipper after Kohli-Kumble fall out

The fan following that former Indian skipper MS Dhoni has is certainly unmatched by any other player at the moment. The fans of Dhoni came to the fore yet again when they demanded their hero to return as the skipper of the Indian cricket team. Team India has had a decent time on the field in the recent times. They made it to the finals of the ICC Champions Trophy this year before losing to Pakistan in the ultimate game.

Currently, the team has arrived in West Indies for limited overs fixtures. The on-field scenes for team India looks very fruitful at the moment. However, the thing that has been bothering the fans and the players is the off-field drama that has unfolded in the last couple of days. Anil Kumble stepped down as the coach of the Indian team and that has left a big void in the team management.

Needless to say, Kumble was a hard taskmaster who yielded great results for the team ever since he took charge last year. However, the overpowering attitude of Kumble did not go down well with the Indian players and that was reason for the bridge between the two parties. Also, in his post resignation note, Kumble noted that skipper Virat Kohli had issues with the way Kumble handled things.

This fall out between the coach and the captain is seeing the fans blame Virat Kohli for Kumble’s exit. Many have mocked Kohli to have ‘too much’ attitude. Now, the fans have added a new dimension to the story. They want MS Dhoni to come back as the captain of the Indian cricket team.

It is worth noting that MS Dhoni always maintained fruitful relationships with the coaches and the team management. Hence, it comes as no surprise why people want to see calm head Dhoni at the helm and not the hot head Kohli.
