Bengal pacer Mohammed Shami might not have been picked for the last two Test matches against Australia but will stay with the Indian cricket team for the final two Tests. The pacer missed out on the final two Tests because of the last minute aggravation of his knee injury but has been asked by the Board of Control for Cricket in India to travel with the team to Ranchi where the third Test will be played as per the reports in the Mumbai Mirror.
Shami featured in Bengal’s Vijay Hazare game in Chennai and had also bowled in the India team’s nets during the Bangalore Test. However, the right-handed bowler has been advised to give Bengal’s quarterfinal match against Maharashtra a miss on March 15. Keeping in mind his knee injury the team management has reportedly requested to do so.
After their emphatic victory against the Aussies in the second Test match at Bengaluru, the Indian team has been given a Holi break till March 12 and the players are expected to assemble in Ranchi on March 13. On the other hand, the Australian team would also be in Ranchi on March 13, who are currently in Bengaluru.
It has been in the news that some Aussie players were planning to make a trip to Goa or Dubai but the Australian team spokesperson denied the same.
