India’s dressing room was left stunned and in shock after MS Dhoni got run-out on Wednesday. The hopes of making it to the final were ended there itself and they will have to leave England now without a trophy. With their next international assignment more than two weeks away now, the players are now likely to take a break from the game and head to different directions to spend some time away from the game.

India are scheduled to tour West Indies for 3 T20Is, as many ODIs and a couple of Tests starting from August 3. While Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah are set to be rested, it remains to be seen who all make it to the squad and who all get dropped from the team. Some of the players are playing for a long time and deserve a break as well even as the logistics manager handles things for them now.

“The logistics manager takes over from hereon. The players will start leaving in batches and groups to their preferred destination as per availability of tickets,” a BCCI source was quoted as saying by Times Now.

What about MS Dhoni?

Meanwhile, it has also been learnt that MS Dhoni is expected to return to his hometown Ranchi after a few days and then take a call on his retirement. He might have played his last game in national colours but the player of his stature deserves a better send-off. When Virat Kohli was asked about the same in the press conference on Wednesday, he cleared that Dhoni has told anything to him about his future plans.

As far as the upcoming tour is concerned, it is very much possible that the selectors will look to try some new faces at least for the T20I series ahead of the World Cup next year in Australia. The preferred will definitely be back for the two-match Test series which will embark India’s journey in the ICC Test Championship.
