Indian players take part in six-hitting battle in Ranchi ahead of 3rd ODI
Yuzvendra Chahal also tried his luck out.
India will play Australia in the third ODI in Ranchi on Friday and Virat Kohli’s men are all geared up to make it 3-0 in the game and give some other players chances in the remaining two matches as preparation for the World Cup. India have a 2-1 win record at the JSCA International Stadium Complex and have beaten Australia in a T20I at the venue in 2017. The Men in Blue have also beaten Australia in four consecutive ODIs now and a win in Ranchi will see them registering their fourth consecutive bilateral series win at home against the same opponents.
The Indian cricketers sweated it out at the ground on the eve of the match and they were seen taking part in a battle to hit sixes. Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who aspires to hit his first six in international cricket, also joined the fray though it was not too clear whether he managed to clear the rope as did some other big hitters like Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja. Chahal has hit only three sixes in his career so far and two of them came in first-class cricket while the other one came in a List ‘A’ game.
Dhoni hit some monstrous sixes
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared on its official Twitter handle a video of the Men in Blue trying for the maximum at the nets. Dhoni, who fell for a golden duck in the Nagpur ODI, looked in good touch as he hit some monstrous shots. The upcoming match is likely to be the 37-year-old’s farewell game in front of his home crowd and all will pray for the man to play a memorable knock.

The southern stand of the stadium in Ranchi has been named after Dhoni and it is set to be inaugurated on Friday ahead of the third match. Dhoni himself was offered to inaugurate the stand but he politely turned it down saying it would not look good if, as the local lad, he only inaugurated it.
