The last couple of months have been impressive for Rajasthan bowler Khaleel Ahmed. He made his debut against Hong Kong and has ever since done well to stay in the Indian team. The seamer picked up seven wickets in four matches in the ODI series against Windies. He has followed it up with a couple of decent performances in the two T20Is in Kolkata and Lucknow respectively.

However, on Tuesday, he was involved in an incident, which could’ve caused an accident to Rohit Sharma, the Indian interim skipper. In one of his celebrations, the left-arm seamer tried to show his ecstasy in a rather bizarre manner, by hitting Rohit on the face with his head. After taking the pounding, the 31-year-old cricketer moved away and seemed to be in a bit of pain.

Albeit it didn’t seem intentional, it looked dangerous on the naked eye. Thereafter, Khaleel immediately went up to Rohit and raised his arms in apology, realising that his skipper was hurt. Bhuvneshwar Kumar also looked back to see what happened. The likes of wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant and Baroda all-round cricketer Krunal Pandya was also there when the occurring took place.

Here is the video

Khaleel was stupendous the other night with the leather. While the Windies were chasing 196 to win the match and stay alive in the series, Khaleel got rid of opener Shai Hope in the second over by castling him when the batsman tried to play a pull shot. In the sixth over, he accounted for the prized scalp of Shimron Hetmyer, who has the potential of turning a match on its head.

As far as Rohit is concerned, he became the first batsman in T20I cricket to hit four centuries, surpassing New Zealand batsman Colin Munro, who has three of them. Moreover, he also went past Virat Kohli as India’s highest ever T20I run-scorer. Rohit now has the chance of crossing Martin Guptill to become the all-time highest run-getter in T20Is and he is 68 runs shy of the same.
