It will be a battle between experience and youth. Chennai had achieved a double over Delhi in the league stages but playing in an Eliminator that too after a comprehensive defeat in the previous game has a pressure of its own. Delhi will be delighted to finally win a game in the qualifiers and will now look forward to continuing the good work and seal a spot in the finals for the first time.
Chennai conceded their third straight defeat against Mumbai this year and will have to put it behind in order to start afresh. They were shoddy in the field and will aim to support their bowlers more in this virtual semi-final against Delhi which will be played at Visakhapatnam on Friday.
The biggest dilemma for fantasy-team lovers will be between Dhoni and his protege Pant. Both have had good seasons but Dhoni has been far more consistent than his understudy and has a knack for playing a big hand in crunch games plus will also have happy memories of playing at this ground.
Spinners will play a big role yet again as they did in the previous game here and Chennai have plenty of quality ones in their ranks. Sticking to the theme employed by both teams in the previous contest here, the openers in this game will go hard against the new ball before the spinners apply the strangle. Because of their superior record this year and they possess quality spinners in their side, Chennai will start this game as the favourites.

Wicket-Keeper: Rishabh Pant (C)
Batsmen: Suresh Raina, Faf du Plessis, Shreyas Iyer
All-Rounders: Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel
Bowlers: Ishant Sharma, Keemo Paul, Imran Tahir (VC), Harbhajan Singh, Deepak Chahar
Captain and Vice-Captain choices:
Captain: Rishabh Pant’s magic helped Delhi get out of a tight spot in the Eliminator. He has started playing with a lot more responsibility and will hold the key yet again against heavyweights Chennai. Hailed as a murderer of spin bowling, Pant will have to pick the right balls like he has been doing in the last couple of games.
Vice-Captain: Tahir had a rare off day in the last game and yet came away with 2 for 33. His variety and control will be highly effective on this surface. Having picked 4 for 12 against Delhi a few days ago which included the prized scalp of Pant, Tahir will surely have an upper hand coming into this game.

Fantasy Tips
Keemo Paul is not express but has a fair bit of variety up his sleeves which could pose a big threat at the Vizag surface. He can also swing his bat around at the end which is an added advantage.

Rishabh Pant
Harbhajan Singh
Risky Captain Choices:
Shikhar Dhawan
Deepak Chahar
Dwayne Bravo
Dotball Team for Large/Grand Contests:
Wicket-Keeper: MS Dhoni
Batsmen: Ambati Rayudu, Shikar Dhawan (C), Prithvi Shaw
All-rounders: Dwayne Bravo, Axar Patel
Bowlers: Amit Mishra, Keemo Paul, Harbhajan Singh, Deepak Chahar (VC), Trent Boult
Captain and Vice-Captain choices:
Captain: Dhawan has had a big impact in Delhi’s successful run so far this year. He has been very aggressive at the top of the order and brought in all his international experience to shoulder the responsibility to a young batting line-up. The southpaw has 503 runs at 35.92 in 15 games all coming at an impressive strike rate of 135.94. He could play a big hand in this knockout clash.
Vice-Captain: Deepak Chahar has struck crucial blows with the new ball and is in the middle of a fantastic season. His swing will trouble batsmen as the conditions will offer assistance to the new ball bowlers. In 15 games, Chahar has given runs at 7.57 while collecting 17 wickets and will love to add a few more to the tally.
Fantasy Tips
Amit Mishra has used all his experience and has delivered tight spells in the middle overs while conceding runs at only 6.91. If he can get his trajectory a tad bit flatter, he could inflict major damage at Vizag.
