Indian Women's team players to be rewarded with Rs 50 Lakh each from the BCCI
This is the second time that the Indians find themselves in the finals of the ICC Women’s World Cup.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have decided to reward each member of the Indian Women’s team for their luminous display in the ongoing ICC Women’s World Cup. According to the board, every player will be presented with Rs.50 Lakh each.
India defeated the Aussies in the semi-final of the mega ICC event to book a date with hosts England in the grand finale. The final will be played at Lords on Sunday and the tickets are being picked up like coins.
What CK Khanna said:
BCCI acting President CK Khanna announced on Friday that the board will reward the team for their valiant efforts in the tournament and he kept his word. Khanna also mentioned that the board is extremely proud of the Harmanpreet Kaur show that dismantled the Aussies at the Derby ground.
“BCCI will give reward to Women’s Cricket Team on their tremendous performance in World Cup. Match by match Indian team is performing so well now, we are proud of them particularly the knock played by Harmanpreet Kaur,” CK Khanna had said.
This is the second time that the Indians find themselves in the finals of the ICC Women’s World Cup. The last time they were in a similar stage was back in 2005 when they lost the final battle against the Australians at Centurion. Present skipper Mithali Raj and leading bowler Jhulan Goswami were a part of that losing side.
India and England will lock horns against each other at Lords and it will be exciting to see who will have the last laugh. However, India has already beaten the hosts in the group stages of the tournament. But it will be foolish of Mithali Raj and her women if they underestimate the Three lions in the final. England defeated South Africa in a thrilling encounter in the first semi-final match by 2 wickets.
