7. MS Dhoni (WK)
During his playing days, there was never a major tournament, featuring India, which did not have MS Dhoni. He played all six games of the 2018 Asia Cup and also played a good hand in the final, scoring a crucial 36 runs. He scored 77 runs in the tournament in four innings.
One of the icons and most scrutinised players of Indian cricket, Dhoni last played for India in Old Trafford, Manchester, in the 2019 World Cup semifinal against New Zealand. It was a tragic ending to the international career of the Indian legend, in one of the painful matches for Indian fans.
Dhoni was run out for 50, and India went on to lose the game by 18 runs and were out of the tournament. He announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket in August 2020. He was last in action on the field in the IPL 2022 as the captain of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in May.
