India's attitude has been spot on: Michael Clarke
"Australia have been on the backfoot and I think Australia been scared to lose while India haven't," he added.
Former Australian captain Michael Clarke feels that the current Indian team is pretty much like the Australian team of the last decade. The attitude that the players have been showing is great to watch. He mentioned that the Australian team will have to play a lot better to avoid a whitewash in the ongoing series.
Trailing 0-3 down, they will take on the hosts in Bengaluru today in the 4th ODI. As per the quotes in India Today, Michael Clarke lauded the attitude of the hosts. He commended the way the Indian team has played dominating game.
“Australia will have to play a lot better than they have so far in the series to avoid a 5-0 whitewash. If they continue to do the same things, they’ll continue to get the same result. If Australia want to avoid that, they’ll have to make some change. I think with their team and also with their attitude,” quoted Michael Clarke.
“India’s attitude has been spot on. The way they have played and attacked Australia and looked to dominate has been spot on. Australia have been tentative, Australia have been on the backfoot and I think Australia been scared to lose while India haven’t,” he added.
India not scared of failing
He added further on the same note saying that the pace at which the team is going on at the moment is unmatched. He mentioned that he does not wish to compare this team with any other team since it would be disrespecting either of the sides in some or the other way. The prime point here is that the intent of the team India needs appreciation. He added that the Australian team is on the backfoot.
“The current India team has the attitude of the old Australian team. They are not scared of failing. They are going 100 miles and hour and look to dominate every single team. I don’t think it will be fair to compare this Indian team with the great Australian team because I don’t want to disrespect either team. They are two very different teams, two very different bunch of players. I think India’s intent is what Australia used to have. They put that fear in other team’s minds. If anyone is on the backfoot, it’s Australia,” quoted the former Australian captain.
